You’ll have your pick of three 2024 Buick Enclave trims: Essence, Premium, and Avenir. They all have a 310-horsepower 3.6-liter V6 engine connected to a nine-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive (FWD) is standard, but every trim can be upgraded with the available all-wheel-drive (AWD) system. The EPA-estimated fuel economy for FWD-equipped Enclaves is 18 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway, which dips slightly to 17 city/25 highway with AWD. The Enclave can tow up to 5,000 pounds when it is properly equipped. You’ll find up to 97.4 cubic feet of cargo space when the second and third rows are folded down.
The Enclave Essence comes well-equipped with leather upholstery (first and second rows), heated power-adjustable front seats (eight-way driver/six-way passenger), tri-zone automatic climate control, a hands-free power tailgate, rear privacy glass, and 18-inch aluminum wheels. This trim’s driver-focused equipment includes a heated steering wheel, a 4.2-inch driver display, cruise control, proximity keyless entry, push-button start, heated power side mirrors, and LED headlights with auto on/off.
If you choose the Premium instead, you’ll appreciate its additional amenities, such as ventilated front seats with lumbar support, heated second-row outboard seats, a driver’s memory system, a 60/40-split power-folding third-row seat, a head-up display, power-folding heated mirrors, a power tilt/telescoping steering column, a digital rearview mirror, and an 8-inch driver information display. The most popular options that Buick extends for the Essence and Premium are a power moonroof, a trailering package, and 20-inch wheels.
At the top of the Enclave range is the luxury-laden Avenir. Its standard highlights are diamond-perforated seating (leather-trimmed on the first and second rows), a power moonroof, wood-tone interior trim, rain-sensing windshield wipers, trim-specific exterior accents, and 20-inch wheels. The optional Avenir Technology Package adds a premium suspension package (with hydraulic dampers and steering calibration), a real-time damping suspension, and LED headlamps with an exclusive design seen only on this trim level.
The Buick Driver Confidence Package is installed on all 2024 Enclaves. It includes forward collision alert, automatic emergency braking, front pedestrian braking, rear park assist, lane change alert with side blind-zone alert, lane keep assist with lane departure warning, rear cross-traffic alert, and a following distance indicator. The Premium and Avenir have rear pedestrian alert and a surround-view monitor, which are available on the Essence. The Avenir gets enhanced automatic emergency braking (improved forward collision prevention) and adaptive cruise control, both of which are optional for the lower trims. Other standard safety technology includes a full array of airbags, anti-lock brakes, vehicle stability control, traction control, and a rearview camera.
The Enclave’s infotainment system centers on an 8-inch touchscreen that’s used to manage the wireless smartphone integration (Android Auto and Apple CarPlay), SiriusXM satellite radio, multiple USB ports, and access to a Wi-Fi hotspot and OnStar/Buick connected services (for emergency assistance and remote control of certain vehicle functions). A six-speaker sound system is standard in the Essence, while the higher trims get an eight-speaker Bose setup. Navigation is included on the higher trims and optional for those who order the Essence.
