The 2024 Silverado EV is a four-door crew cab pickup truck currently available in a single trim level called First-Edition RST; additional trims (LT, WT, and Trail Boss) will be offered later. Powered by GM’s Ultium platform, the Silverado EV generates 754 horsepower and 785 lb.-ft. of torque through two mighty electric motors. It also comes with four-wheel drive, adaptive ride control, a four-corner adaptive air suspension, and dynamic four-wheel steering for optimal handling and maneuverability in all situations.
On a full charge, the Silverado EV can cover up to 440 miles, an impressive feat for such a large vehicle. Buyers get a dual-level charge cord that’s compatible with both 120-volt Level 1 and 240-volt Level 2 charging. If you need a faster charge, the ’24 Silverado EV also supports 800-volt DC fast charging.
The Silverado EV First-Edition RST is packed with premium features, showcasing a panoramic fixed-glass roof, heated power-folding mirrors with turn indicators and driver’s-side auto-dimming, rain-sensing windshield wipers, remote start, LED lights, and 24-inch aluminum wheels. Since there’s no engine, the area under the hood houses GM’s innovative eTrunk – a lockable and weatherproof storage compartment featuring a 120-volt power outlet, drain holes, and cargo tie-down points.
The six-function Multi-Flex Tailgate enhances ease of loading and unloading, while the 5-foot 11-inch cargo bed with the Chevytec spray-on liner, LED lighting, and five power outlets (four 120-volt and one 240-volt) is ready for any task. The Silverado EV’s Multi-Flex Midgate increases practicality by extending the load floor into the cab, expanding your cargo-carrying capabilities up to 10 feet, 10 inches.
The interior amenities are abundant, with the likes of wireless phone charging, dual-zone automatic climate control, power-adjustable heated and ventilated front seats with driver’s position memory, heated rear outboard seats, a heated leather-wrapped steering wheel, and ambient lighting. There’s also a 14-inch head-up display, an 11-inch driver information display, multiple USB-C ports for data and charging, and three power outlets: one 12-volt and two 120-volt. What’s more, the ’24 Silverado EV is set up for One-Pedal Driving, which helps charge the battery on the go by capturing some energy via regenerative braking.
The 2024 Silverado EV has the Chevy Safety Assist suite installed. It bundles a surround-view camera, automatic parking assist, forward collision alert, automatic emergency braking, reverse automatic braking with rear pedestrian alert, rear cross-traffic braking, front pedestrian and bicyclist braking, side bicyclist alert, automatic intersection braking, adaptive cruise control, traffic sign recognition with speed limit assist, driver attention monitoring, automatic high beams, a following distance indicator, rear seat reminder, and GM’s safety alert seat. The Silverado EV also comes with GM’s Super Cruise hands-free driving system, enabling an effortless travel experience on compatible roadways. Beyond that, the Silverado EV has a number of trailering assistance features: trailer view camera provisions, blind-zone steering assist, Hitch Guidance with Hitch View, and trailer tire pressure and temperature sensors.
At the heart of the Silverado EV’s technology stable is a 17.7-inch diagonal touchscreen with Google built-in, natural voice recognition, onboard navigation, and access to a Wi-Fi hotspot, SiriusXM satellite radio, and OnStar/Chevrolet Connected Services. Connectivity is seamless with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and Bluetooth hands-free phone and audio streaming, while the seven-speaker Bose audio system with a Richbass subwoofer supplies quality sound reproduction.
