Buyers of the 2024 Chevrolet Trax can choose from five trims: LS, 1RS, LT, 2RS, and Activ. All versions are front-wheel drive and propelled by a turbocharged 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine making 137 horsepower. A six-speed automatic transmission manages the drivetrain. The fuel economy as estimated by the EPA is 28 mpg in the city and 32 mpg on the highway.
The default equipment for the starter LS trim includes fabric upholstery, a single-zone manual climate control system, rear privacy glass, automatic LED headlights, power side mirrors, remote keyless entry, a tilt/telescopic steering column, a 3.5-inch driver information display, cruise control, and 17-inch steel wheels. The 1RS is enhanced with remote start, heated front seats, a heated and wrapped flat-bottomed steering wheel, heated power side mirrors, black exterior accents, and 17-inch aluminum wheels.
Sitting at the middle of the Trax’s lineup is the LT, which gets upholstery in a combination of Evotex and cloth, plus single-zone automatic climate control, premium LED daytime running lights, unique exterior treatments, an 8-inch driver information display, and a cargo cover. The optional LT Convenience Package adds heated front seats, a heated and wrapped steering wheel, heated power side mirrors, and proximity keyless entry.
The 2RS reflects the 1RS’s sporty look but adds Evotex upholstery, single-zone automatic climate control, proximity keyless entry, an 8-inch driver information display, rooftop side rails, premium LED daytime running lights, a cargo cover, and 19-inch wheels.
Chevy offers the Activ for those wanting a top-tier Trax without the sporty touches of the RS trims. It has everything from the LT, including the Convenience Package, plus Evotex upholstery, an eight-way power driver’s seat, exclusive exterior accents, and 18-inch wheels finished in black.
Chevy Safety Assist comes with every 2024 Trax, providing forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, front pedestrian braking, lane keep assist with lane departure warning, a following distance indicator, and automatic high beams. All trims all eligible for the optional lane change alert with blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and rear parking sensors; adaptive cruise control is available on the LT and higher. This model’s other safety features include anti-lock brakes, vehicle stability control with traction control, a full array of airbags, and a rearview monitor.
The infotainment features on the Trax are based around an 8-inch touchscreen and four-speaker audio system for the LS and 1RS. The higher trims get an 11-inch touchscreen and six speakers. All versions come with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, SiriusXM satellite radio, and access to a Wi-Fi hotspot and Chevrolet Connected Services/OnStar (for remote features, vehicle monitoring, and emergency help). Wireless device charging is optional on the LT and higher.
