The seven-passenger 2024 GMC Acadia is available with three trim packages: Elevation, AT4, and Denali. A turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine (output: 328 hp and 326 lb.-ft. of torque) makes its debut; it’s coupled to an eight-speed automatic transmission. While front-wheel drive is the default in the Elevation and Denali, they can be upgraded with all-wheel drive, which comes standard in the ruggedness-focused AT4. As far as towing capabilities, a properly equipped Acadia (that’s with the Trailering Package) can pull up to 5,000 pounds.
The base Elevation has a nice medley of standard features, including wireless phone charging, a heated steering wheel, remote start, leatherette upholstery, heated power-adjustable front seats, tri-zone automatic climate control, an auto-dimming rearview mirror with HomeLink, proximity keyless entry, push-button ignition, a power liftgate, an 11-inch digital gauge cluster, a 120-volt power outlet, USB data and charging ports, heated power-adjustable side-view mirrors with turn-signal indicators, and deep-tinted rear glass. The intrepid AT4 is built for more rugged pursuits, as it has standard AWD with active torque control, underbody skid plates, a heavy-duty cooling system, hill descent control, hill start assist, red recovery hooks, an off-road suspension, a special Terrain Mode that keeps the vehicle at a slow crawling speed when overlanding, and all-terrain tires. Along with that, the AT4 gets roof rails, upholstery in a combination of cloth and leatherette, and Hitch Guidance with Hitch View for easy trailering.
The Denali is the most luxurious of the three Acadia trims. It has perforated leather upholstery, ventilated front seats, heated rear outboard seats, position memory for the driver’s seat and side mirrors, an 8-inch head-up display, a power tilt-and-telescopic steering wheel, rain-sensing windshield wipers (with a heated zone to keep ice at bay in cold weather), a one-touch folding and sliding second-row seat, a power folding 60/40-split third-row bench seat, a fully independent suspension tuned for optimal comfort, auto-dimming side mirrors, and acoustic-laminated glass.
The all-new Acadia boasts an expansive stable of standard driving aids. These technologies include forward collision alert, automatic emergency braking with intersection support and pedestrian/cyclist detection, a following distance indicator, blind-zone steering assist, rear cross-traffic braking, an HD surround-view monitor, automatic high beams, rear parking sensors, a safety alert seat, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist with lane departure warning, reverse automatic braking, and traffic sign recognition.
Every trim also comes with Teen Driver, which is designed to assist young people who are learning how to drive, as well as Buckle to Drive, which prevents the car from being shifted out of park unless the driver’s seatbelt is fastened. As mentioned, GM’s revolutionary Super Cruise system is available for every trim, allowing you to travel totally hands-free on up to 400,000 miles of compatible roadways in the U.S. and Canada.
Every trim level of the 2024 Acadia has a 15-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Google built-in. Along with Google Assistant, Google Maps, and Google Play Store, this multimedia system incorporates wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, SiriusXM satellite radio, voice recognition, a Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth hands-free phone and audio streaming, and a 12-speaker Bose audio system. For an enhanced listening experience, the Denali qualifies for an available 16-speaker Bose setup with crisper sound reproduction.
Those who order their Acadia can order some fine upgrade packages to max out the upgrades on their vehicle. The Luxury Package for the Elevation and AT4 supplies heated rear outboard seats, an 8-inch head-up display, an acoustic windshield, and a heated windshield-wiper zone (the AT4 will also get ventilated front seats). The Elevation is eligible for the Trailering Package as well, which comes standard with the other trims. It consists of a Class III trailer hitch, a 7-pin wiring harness, a heavy-duty cooling system, Hitch Guidance with Hitch View, and a 220-amp alternator. All trims can add a panoramic sunroof as an a la carte option.
