GMC offers the Hummer EV Pickup in three grades: the core 2X and 3X trims and the 3X Omega Limited Edition. The 2X has an electric motor on each axle (hence the ‘2X’ moniker); together, they produce a GMC-projected 625 combined horsepower and 7,400 lb.-ft. of torque. This trim is EPA-rated for a maximum range of 311 miles and uses a 20-module Ultium high-voltage battery pack. The higher trims have three motors (with two powering the rear wheels) that put out an estimated 1,000 horsepower and 11,500 lb.-ft. of torque. The 3X has a maximum range of 381 miles, which changes to 359 for the 3X Omega Limited Edition.
GMC estimates that a Level 3/DC faster charger can add 100 miles of range to a Hummer EV pickup in as little as 12 minutes. At maximum capacity, a Level 2/240-volt charger adds about 30 miles of range in an hour. Later in 2024, GMC Hummer EV Pickup owners will have access to the Tesla Supercharger Network.
Given that the Hummer EV Pickup is unlike any other truck, its equipment list is filled with innovative features. The 2X trim starts with the CrabWalk four-wheel steering system and the Infinity Roof with its removable opaque Sky Panels. Its other standard features include an adaptive air-ride suspension, a power hood (for eTrunk access), the MultiPro tailgate, leather-alternative upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats with 12-way power controls, a heated steering wheel, tri-zone automatic climate control, LED exterior lighting, and a driver’s position memory system. GMC also adds remote start, proximity keyless entry, a 12.3-inch digital instrument display, a power tilt-and-telescoping steering column, push-button start, a digital rearview mirror, heated power side mirrors with power-folding functionality, rain-sensing windshield wipers, two USB ports, wireless device charging, and 22-inch aluminum wheels.
The 3X is configured like the 2X, but with one notable exception: the high-performance Watts to Freedom feature comes standard (it’s an option on the 2X). This system automatically lowers the suspension by 2 inches, prepares the vehicle for launch, and engages the powertrain for a zero-to-60 mph run in 3.0 seconds. Exclusive 22-inch wheels are also part of the 3X package.
The 3X Omega Limited Edition comes in exclusive Neptune Blue Matte exterior paint and switches the opaque Sky Panels with transparent units. It also gets unique exterior treatments and the Extreme Off-Road Package (electronically locking differentials, skid plates, underbody cameras, and 18-inch beadlock aluminum wheels with Goodyear Wrangler MT tires).
GMC gives every Hummer EV Pickup a comprehensive suite of advanced driver-assistance features, including forward collision alert, enhanced automatic emergency braking, lane change alert with side blind-zone alert, trailer side blind-zone alert, rear cross-traffic alert, lane keep assist with lane departure warning, rear pedestrian alert, adaptive cruise control, and a surround-view monitor. Some standard features outside of that suite are GM’s Safety Alert Seat (the driver’s seat vibrates for specific safety notifications), semi-autonomous parking assistance, following distance indicator, rear seat reminder, stability and traction control, six airbags, and a rearview monitor. All trims also come with the Super Cruise hands-free highway driving system.
The tech-forward Hummer EV Pickup has a state-of-the-art infotainment system based on a 13.4-inch touchscreen with Google built-in. It’s enhanced with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, SiriusXM satellite radio, Bluetooth, and a Bose audio system with 14 speakers. Access to a Wi-Fi hotspot and GMC Connected Services/OnStar is included as well.
