As of this writing, GM offers the four-wheel drive (4WD) 2024 Hummer EV SUV in three trims: 2X, 3X, and 3X Omega Limited Edition. Another trim, the Edition 1, will be available later this year, slotting in between the 3X and 3X Omega Limited Edition. The two-motor Ultium Drive System is standard in the 2X, generating 570 hp and 7,400 lb.-ft. of torque. Meanwhile, the 3X and 3X Omega Limited Edition come with the three-motor Ultium Drive System, which puts out the aforementioned class-leading 830 hp and 11,500 lb.-ft. of torque. The available Watts to Freedom drive mode will give the ’24 Hummer EV SUV some serious sprinting power, too, taking it from 0 to 60 mph in a whopping 3.5 seconds, which is ridiculously fast for a vehicle of this size. This model’s maximum towing capacity is 7,500 pounds.
All 2024 Hummer EV SUV trims are powered by GM’s 20-module Ultium battery, which is compatible with 240V Level 2 charging up to 19.2 kW and 800V DC fast charging up to 300 kW. With the 2X, you’ll be able to travel 303 miles on a full charge, but with the 3X, the total range increases to 314 miles. The 3X Omega Limited Edition dips a little to a still-impressive 298 miles.
The Hummer EV SUV also comes with One-Pedal Driving and Regen on Demand. One-Pedal Driving lets you manage acceleration and deceleration using only the accelerator pedal, and it captures and converts the kinetic energy formed during braking to be stored in the battery. With Regen on Demand, you can control the degree of regeneration using the steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters.
The 2X is well stocked with amenities. On the performance and handling front, you’ll get an adaptive air ride suspension that can rise 6 inches, plus a real-time damping suspension, a drive mode selector with a Tow/Haul setting, electronic four-wheel steering with CrabWalk (this provides greater maneuverability when you’re parking or navigating off-road obstacles), 22-inch wheels with Goodyear Wrangler Territory all-terrain tires, and a pair of frame-mounted front recovery hooks. It also gets GM’s proprietary Infinity Roof featuring removable opaque Sky Panels, plus rain-sensing windshield wipers, heated power-folding side mirrors with turn-signal indicators and driver’s side auto-dimming, a power swing gate with power-up/down drop glass, LED lights (headlights, front light bar, daytime running lights, taillights, and roof marker lights emitting a unique amber hue), and roof accessory mounting points. What’s more, the 2X features the versatile eTrunk located beneath the hood, which provides 11.3 cubic feet of cargo space, four tie downs hooks rated at 110 pounds, a 12V power outlet, and storage for the Infinity Roof Sky Panels.
The interior of the 2X has leatherette upholstery, heated and ventilated power-adjustable front seats with driver’s-side position memory, heated rear outboard seats with a 60/40-split, a heated power tilt-and-telescopic steering wheel, tri-zone automatic climate control, push-button start, wireless phone charging, a HomeLink universal home remote, a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, a 120V power outlet, and multiple USB ports for data and charging.
Along with its enhanced tri-motor powertrain, the 3X ups the ante with the invigorating Watts to Freedom drive mode. When this is activated, it will lower the vehicle by 2 inches, stimulate the driver’s seat with sounds and haptic feedback, provide special visuals on the 12.3-inch gauge cluster, and launch the vehicle from 0 to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds. The 3X Omega Limited Edition tops the range with the exclusive Neptune Blue Matte paint, black exterior accents, transparent Sky Panels providing a superior open-air experience, signature 18-inch beadlock-capable wheels, and high-lux carpeted flooring.
Every 2024 Hummer EV SUV is outfitted with GM’s suite of standard driving aids, including forward collision alert with automatic emergency braking, reverse automatic braking, front pedestrian braking and rear pedestrian alert, a surround-view camera, a rear seat reminder, lane keep assist with lane departure warning, lane change alert with side blind-zone alert, rear cross-traffic alert, automatic parking assistance, and a following distance indicator. Beyond that list, the ’24 Hummer EV SUV comes with trailer side blind-zone alert, as well as Hitch Guidance and Hitch View. All trims get a three-year trial subscription to GM’s Super Cruise driving system, too, which lets you enjoy hands-free travel on over 400,000 miles of compatible roadways in the U.S. and Canada.
A 13.4-inch Google-based touchscreen infotainment system is found in every Hummer EV SUV trims. Along with Google Assistant, Google Maps, and Google Play store, this sophisticated system features wireless Android Auto, wireless Apple CarPlay, SiriusXM satellite radio, voice recognition, a Wi-Fi hotspot, a 14-speaker Bose audio system with CenterPoint surround-sound, and Bluetooth for hands-free phone and audio streaming.
While the ’24 Hummer EV SUV is already filled to the brim with cutting-edge content, it can be heightened with a bevy of upgrade packages. The Extreme Off-Road Package (available for all trims) adds underbody skid plates, electronically locking front and rear differentials, Ultravision front and rear underbody cameras (with washers and lens protectors), rear recovery hooks, rocker protectors with assist steps, and Goodyear Wrangler Territory all-terrain tires on 18-inch wheels. All trims are also eligible for the Cargo Utility Package, which supplies an all-weather cargo liner, a cargo security shade, a collapsible cargo organizer, and a cargo net.
The 3X is eligible for the Edition 1 Package, which contains the Infinity Roof with transparent Sky Panels, a special instrument panel badge, unique infotainment animations, Moonshot Green Matte exterior paint, and the Lunar Shadow interior color scheme. Buyers can also opt for the Illumination Package, which provides front off-road auxiliary lights, side mirror projection lights displaying the Hummer EV logo, accessory touchscreen control switches, and ambient interior lighting for the footwells.
