Chevy presents this last-ever Malibu in four trim packages called LS, RS, 1LT, and 2LT. Beneath the hood is a turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine with an output of 163 horses. It’s paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) and a front-wheel drivetrain. According to the EPA’s official estimates, all trims achieve 28 mpg in the city and 36 mpg on the highway.
The base LS is equipped with some nice amenities, including remote start, proximity keyless entry, push-button ignition, cloth upholstery, manually adjustable front seats, a 60/40-split folding rear bench seat, cruise control, and automatic on/off headlights. The RS is enhanced with a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, and a rear spoiler. With the 1LT, the leather-wrapped steering wheel is not included, but it compensates with heated front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, a rear-seat center armrest, heated side mirrors, and LED daytime running lights.
The 2LT ramps up the amenities with leather upholstery, a heated leather-wrapped steering wheel, a leather-wrapped shift knob, ventilated front seats, position memory for the driver’s seat, a power-adjustable front passenger’s seat, a wireless phone charger, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, an 8-inch digital gauge cluster, ambient interior lighting, a 120V power outlet, a USB charging port, and LED headlights and taillights. All trims are eligible for an optional universal garage door opener and a keyless entry keypad.
Every trim level of the ‘25 Malibu comes with Chevy Safety Assist, a comprehensive suite of active driving aids. It bundles forward collision alert, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, automatic high beams, and a following distance indicator. All trims also get the Driver Confidence Package, which includes rear parking sensors. The 2LT can be set up with the optional Driver Confidence and Cruise Package, providing automatic parking assist, adaptive cruise control, and an enhanced automatic emergency braking system. Lane change alert with side blind-zone alert is available across the board.
The LS, RS, and 1LT have the Chevrolet Infotainment 3 system, which features an 8-inch touchscreen, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a Wi-Fi hotspot, a six-speaker sound system, and Bluetooth hands-free phone and audio streaming. As the ultimate Malibu trim, the 2LT upgrades to the Chevrolet Infotainment 3 Plus system with a high-definition 8-inch touchscreen, navigation, SiriusXM satellite radio, and a prime-quality Bose audio setup with nine speakers.
