Trims, Configurations, and Powertrains

Chevrolet makes the 2025 Silverado 1500 in nine trims: WT, Custom, Custom Trail Boss, LT, RST, LT Trail Boss, ZR2, LTZ, and High Country. Three cab styles are offered – regular (with a standard or long bed), double (with a standard bed), and crew (with a short or standard bed). Chevy’s 2.7-liter TurboMax engine comes standard with most trims, producing 310 horsepower and 430 lb.-ft. of torque. For those seeking more power, a 5.3-liter EcoTec3 V8 with an output of 355 hp and 383 lb.-ft. of torque is available. The renowned Duramax turbodiesel (305 hp and 495 lb.-ft. of torque) is optional for most trims and standard in the LTZ, High Country, and ZR2. The LT Trail Boss and ZR2 can take performance to the next level with the optional 6.2-liter EcoTec3 V8, which whisks out 420 hp and 460 lb.-ft. of torque.

An eight-speed automatic transmission is paired with the TurboMax engine, while a 10-speed automatic is the partner for the remaining engines. Rear-wheel drive is the default for most trims, with four-wheel drive (4WD) optional. The Custom Trail Boss, LT Trail Boss, and ZR2 are made with 4WD only.

Towing, Payload, and Fuel Efficiency

The Silverado 1500 excels in towing, with capacities ranging from 8,900 pounds to 13,000 pounds depending on the trim, powertrain, and cab configuration. Payload capacities vary between 1,720 pounds and 2,260 pounds. Fuel efficiency differs across the board as well, with the Duramax turbodiesel achieving as much as an EPA-estimated 24 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway. As for the EPA’s other fuel economy ratings, the TurboMax four-cylinder returns 17 to 19 mpg around town and 18 to 22 mpg on the highway, while the 5.3-liter V8 is rated to get 15 to 17 mpg in city driving and 19 to 21 mpg on the open road. The more powerful 6.2-liter V8 comes in a bit lower at 14 to 16 mpg city and 17 to 20 mpg highway.

Standard and Available Features

The WT is a good choice for the no-nonsense driver with a job to get done. It has a 40/20/40-split front bench seat (manually adjustable) with under-seat storage, a 60/40-split folding rear bench seat, remote keyless entry, push-button ignition, manual climate control, two USB data/charge ports, easy-to-clean vinyl flooring, a 3.5-inch driver information center, and cruise control. Its exterior features include daytime running lights, cab-mounted cargo area lamps, Chevy’s CornerStep rear bumper, LED reflector headlights, an Autotrac single-speed transfer case, two frame-mounted recovery hooks, and the iconic Durabed with 12 fixed cargo tie-down points.

The Custom affords greater comfort and convenience with remote start, cloth upholstery, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, rear USB charge ports, two 120V power outlets (one in the cabin and one in the cargo bed), deep-tinted rear glass, a power lock-and-release tailgate with EZ Lift assist, heated power-adjustable side mirrors, LED cargo-bed lighting, Hitch Guidance, and a carpeted interior with rubberized vinyl floor mats. The Custom Trail Boss builds on this by adding off-road-ready components such as Goodyear Wrangler Territory tires, skid plates, hill descent control, a two-inch factory suspension lift, an Autotrac two-speed transfer case, a heavy-duty air filter, and an auto-locking rear differential.

The LT steps up with higher-intensity LED headlights, a heated steering wheel, heated front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, a 12.3-inch driver information display, proximity keyless entry, and an integrated trailer brake controller. The RST introduces LED taillights and fog lights, while the LT Trail Boss combines the LT’s upgrades with the Custom Trail Boss’s off-road enhancements, plus LED taillights, LED fog lights, and a trailer brake controller. The LTZ gains a power up/down tailgate and a power tilt-and-telescopic steering wheel.

At the top of the lineup, the ZR2 and High Country provide premium amenities such as perforated leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear outboard seats, position memory for the driver’s seat, a power-adjustable front passenger seat, wireless phone charging, a power-sliding rear window, and a reconfigurable front center console with additional USB ports. Both trims also come with rain-sensing windshield wipers, a universal home remote, Hitch View, perimeter lighting, the Chevytec spray-on bedliner, and power-folding side mirrors. The ZR2 distinguishes itself with Goodyear Wrangler Territory tires, all-weather floor liners, and a driver-selectable full-locking front differential, while the High Country gets carpeted floor mats, a power tilt-and-telescopic steering wheel, and an auto-locking rear differential. Many of those high-grade features can be added to the lower trims through various optional packages.

Advanced Safety Features

Every ’25 Silverado 1500 has Chevrolet’s advanced Safety Assist installed. This driver-assist technology suite consists of forward collision alert, automatic emergency braking with front pedestrian detection, a following distance indicator, lane keep assist with lane departure warning, and IntelliBeam automatic high beams. Higher trims, such as the ZR2 and High Country, add features like trailer side blind-zone alert, front and rear park assist, rear cross-traffic braking, a surround-view camera, and rear pedestrian alert. Adaptive cruise control is standard on the High Country.

Infotainment and Connectivity

Each trim comes equipped with the Chevrolet Infotainment 3 system, which brings together Bluetooth, wireless Android Auto, wireless Apple CarPlay, and access to a Wi-Fi hotspot in all trims. While the lower trims get a 7-inch touchscreen, the LT and above upgrade to a 13.4-inch touchscreen with Google built-in, including Google Assistant, Google Maps, and Google Play Store. A premium 7-speaker Bose audio system is standard in the ZR2, LTZ, and High Country, whereas the lower trims have a more basic sound system with six speakers. The RST and LT Trail Boss are eligible for an upgrade to the Bose setup.
