Trims, Configurations, and Powertrains

The 2025 Silverado HD lineup gives buyers a choice of six trims: WT (Work Truck), Custom, LT, LTZ, ZR2, and High Country. These are available in two chassis configurations: 2500 HD and 3500 HD, with the Custom and ZR2 exclusive to the 2500 HD version. Buyers can select from three cab styles: Regular Cab with two doors, Double Cab with two standard front doors plus two rear-access doors, or Crew Cab with four full-sized doors. There are two bed options: the standard bed (82.25 inches) and the long bed (98.27 inches). The 3500 HD offers single-rear-wheel and dual-rear-wheel platforms. The available cab styles and bed lengths vary depending on the chassis and trim.

The 2500 HD provides a maximum payload capacity of 3,689 pounds, while the 3500 HD increases that capability to 7,234 pounds. For conventional towing, the 2500 HD can pull up to 20,000 pounds when it’s equipped with the Max Trailering Package. The 3500 HD with the Duramax diesel engine matches this 20,000-pound conventional towing capacity. Fifth-wheel/gooseneck towing capacities reach 22,430 pounds for the 2500 HD and 36,000 pounds for the 3500 HD when they’re equipped with both the Max Trailering Package and Duramax diesel engine. The payload and towing capacities vary according to the cab style, bed length, engine choice, and additional equipment.

All Silverado HD variants come standard with a 6.6-liter gasoline V8 producing 401 horsepower and 464 lb.-ft. of torque. The optional Duramax 6.6-liter V8 Turbo-Diesel makes 470 horsepower and 975 lb.-ft. of torque. Both engines pair with an Allison ten-speed automatic transmission. Rear-wheel drive is standard on the WT and Custom, but four-wheel drive (4WD) is an option. The LT, LTZ, ZR2, and High Country are made exclusively with 4WD.

Standard Equipment by Trim

The Silverado HD Work Truck (WT) trim is focused on capability and durability, with a features roster that includes single-zone manual air conditioning, a 40/20/40 split-bench front seat with under-seat storage, vinyl upholstery and flooring, black exterior accents, halogen headlights, and 17-inch steel wheels. Its convenience features consist of remote keyless entry, power windows and door locks, a locking tailgate, cruise control, a 3.5-inch monochromatic driver information display, and a trailering package (with a trailer hitch, 7-pin connector, hitch guidance, and integrated trailer brake controller). This base trim also gets a rear electronic locking differential, a manually adjustable tilt steering column, and two USB charge/data ports on the instrument panel. The Custom builds on the WT’s equipment with cloth upholstery, carpeted flooring, power-adjustable trailering mirrors, rear privacy glass, body-color front and rear bumpers, rubber floor mats, and 20-inch aluminum wheels.

The LT is enhanced with chrome front and rear bumpers, body-color exterior accents, proximity keyless entry, an EZ Lift tailgate with power lock and release, and 17-inch aluminum wheels. Inside, it adds a 12.3-inch digital driver information display, push-button ignition, a wrapped steering wheel, rear heating/cooling vents, a 120-volt power outlet, and two rear charge-only USB ports (Double Cab and Crew Cab). The LTZ introduces premium amenities such as remote start, power-folding/extending trailering mirrors with auto-dimming glass and perimeter lighting, rain-sensing windshield wipers, chrome exterior accents, LED fog lamps, leather-appointed seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, heated driver and front passenger seats, a heated steering wheel, ten-way power-adjustable front seats, and a driver’s memory system. Its other interior attributes include 120-volt power outlets, rear under-seat storage, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a rear-window defogger, a manual tilt and telescopic steering column, and additional USB ports in the center console.

The ZR2 is purpose-built for exceptional off-road capability, thanks to a factory-lifted suspension with Multimatic DSSV dampers, skid plates, a rear electronic locking differential, red recovery hooks, body-color bumpers, animated LED projector headlamps, signature LED taillamps, a power-sliding rear window, and unique 18-inch gloss black wheels. Inside, it boasts heated and ventilated front bucket seats upholstered in perforated leather and wireless device charging.

At the top of the lineup, the High Country trim is loaded beyond the LTZ with perforated leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front bucket seats, a heated steering wheel, heated rear outboard seats, a power-sliding rear window, a front center console, a wireless charging pad, rear under-seat storage, and trim-specific styling inside and out. Its exterior highlights include a power tailgate, spray-on bedliner, a bed-view monitor, 6-inch chrome assist steps, and 20-inch chrome wheels.

Advanced Driver Aids and Safety Technology

Every 2025 Silverado HD edition comes standard with forward collision alert, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, automatic high beams, a following distance indicator, cruise control, and an integrated trailer brake controller. The ZR2 and High Country also get a Safety Alert Seat (the driver seat vibrates during specific safety notifications), trailer side blind-zone alert, and a surround-view monitor. Adaptive cruise control is standard for the High Country. Some of the safety upgrades are available on lower trims. All trims have an array of airbags, anti-lock brakes, traction control, stability control, and a rearview monitor.

Infotainment and Connectivity

The WT and Custom are given a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, and a basic audio setup: two speakers in the Regular Cab and six speakers in the Double Cab and Crew Cab versions. The LT and above upgrade to a 13.4-inch premium touchscreen infotainment system with Google built-in services (including access to Google Maps and Google Assistant), wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and advanced voice recognition. The ZR2 and High Country provide superior sound through a seven-speaker Bose setup. SiriusXM satellite radio is included on all but the WT, where it’s an option. All trims are set up for subscription-based Wi-Fi hotspot capability and access to OnStar/Chevrolet Connected Services.
