The Trax’s appeal is packaged in five trim choices – LS, 1RS, LT, 2RS, and ACTIV. The sole powertrain is a front-wheel-drive configuration managed by a six-speed automatic transmission and powered by a 137-horsepower turbocharged 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine. There is 25.6 cubic feet of cargo space behind the second row that expands to 54.1 cubic feet when the back seats are folded down. According to the EPA, all trims return estimated fuel economy of 28 mpg around town and 32 mpg on the highway.
As the base trim, the LS goes beyond the basics with remote keyless entry, automatic LED headlights, fabric upholstery, rear privacy glass, manual climate control, power side-view mirrors, a tilt and telescopic steering column, a 3.5-inch driver information display, cruise control, four USB ports (two per row), and 17-inch steel wheels. The Trax 1RS gets extra comforts, such as remote start, heated front seats, a heated and wrapped flat-bottomed steering wheel, and heated power side mirrors, along with some sporty touches in the form of black exterior accents and 17-inch aluminum wheels.
The Trax’s mid-tier offering, the LT, features Evotex leatherette- and cloth-trimmed seating, automatic climate control (one zone), premium LED daytime running lights, an 8-inch driver information display, exclusive exterior accents, and a cargo-area cover. Further upgrades are available via the optional LT Convenience Package, which adds heated front seats, a heated and wrapped steering wheel, proximity keyless entry, and heated power side-view mirrors.
The 2RS combines the 1RS trim’s sporty appearance with additional features, including Evotex seating surfaces, single-zone automatic climate control, proximity keyless entry, premium LED daytime running lights, an 8-inch driver information display, roof-mounted side rails, a cargo cover, and 19-inch wheels. The ACTIV tops off the Trax lineup with all the features of the LT with the Convenience Package elected, plus full Evotex upholstery, an eight-way power driver’s seat, trim-specific exterior treatments, and 18-inch wheels with a black finish.
Every 2025 Trax trim comes standard with Chevy Safety Assist for forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, front pedestrian braking, lane keep assist with lane departure warning, a following distance indicator, and automatic high beams. All editions can be equipped with the available Driver Confidence Package, which contains lane change alert with blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and rear parking sensors; this upgrade also has adaptive cruise control on the LT, 2RS, and ACTIV. Every Trax gets a full set of airbags plus anti-lock brakes, stability control, traction control, and a rearview monitor.
A high-resolution touchscreen is the infotainment command center in the 2025 Chevrolet Trax. The system features an 8-inch panel in the LS and 1RS and an 11-inch unit in the higher trims. All trims are equipped with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Sirius satellite radio, and access to a Wi-Fi hotspot and OnStar/Chevrolet Connected Services (for emergency support, vehicle monitoring, and remote features). Audio is served through a four-speaker (LS and 1RS) or a six-speaker (LT and higher) sound system. Wireless device charging is available on the LT, 2RS, and ACTIV.
