2025 Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray

The 2025 Corvette E-Ray debuted in 2024 as the first-ever hybrid rendition of Chevrolet’s performance V8 coupe. It pairs the Corvette Stingray’s 6.2-liter V8 with an electric motor on the front axle, netting 655 combined horsepower, with the ability to go from nought to 60 mph in under three seconds and do a quarter-mile in under 11. This combination has brought multiple firsts to the Corvette nameplate. Not only is the E-Ray the first gas-electric Corvette, achieving 19 combined mpg, but it is also the first with standard all-wheel-drive (AWD), thanks to that electric drive unit powering the front wheels. AWD gives this two-seater added sure-footedness for driving in all four seasons, and front axle assist dynamically adjusts to meet real-time road conditions with stability and control.

For 2025, Chevrolet introduced new Habanero (red-orange with black) upholstery for the 3LZ only and added Competition Yellow Tintcoat Metallic, Hysteria Purple Metallic, and Sebring Orange Tricoat to the exterior color lineup, replacing a number of discontinued colors. Black interiors now get blue contrast stitching as well.

Trims and Powertrain

The 2025 Corvette E-Ray comes in three trims – 1LZ, 2LZ, and 3LZ – which are all available as either a coupe or a hard-top convertible. The E-Ray’s 6.2-liter V8 with mid-mounted placement cranks out 495 horsepower and 470 lb.-ft. of torque on its own and gets 160 additional ponies and 125 lb.-ft. of torque from the electric drive unit. The system’s 650 total combined horsepower yields a 2.5-second 0-to-60 time and 10.5-second quarter-mile time. The hybrid powertrain is completed with an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission with paddle shifters, and electrified all-wheel-drive (AWD) is the sole drivetrain option. Thanks to the mid-engine configuration, there’s a front trunk under the hood for storing items; it comes in especially handy in the convertible version when the top is down.

The transmission provides continuous torque and power through fast, precise shifting, and the declutch feature disengages just as quickly by holding both paddles simultaneously. When Stealth mode is engaged, the electric drive unit can even power the E-Ray for short distances at low speeds via front-wheel-drive (FWD) – another Corvette first. The available performance data recorder tracks pertinent data and captures video as well. The standard Brembo carbon-ceramic performance brakes help retain cornering control, and the performance suspension with Magnetic Selective Ride Control uses suspension fluid with metal particles for instant rigidity and ultimate performance to provide instant response to variable road conditions. Its other outstanding features include a performance exhaust system, 6-piston front and 4-piston rear monobloc calipers, and 15.7-inch front and 15.4-inch rear rotors. All E-Ray trims return an EPA-estimated 24 mpg highway and 16 mpg city.

Standard Features and Options

The 1LZ is outfitted with Mulan leather GT1 bucket seats, 8-way power-adjustable seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel with flat top and bottom, a 12-inch digital instrument cluster, a head-up display, a digital rearview mirror with adjustable tilt and zoom, heated power outside mirrors with integrated turn indicators, a 4G Wi-Fi hotspot, exterior side vents, a rear spoiler, grille accents, and 20-inch front/21-inch rear Pearl Nickel forged-aluminum wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport all-season performance run-flat tires. The 2LZ gets the Memory Driver and Passenger Convenience Package (includes memory seats, side-view mirrors, and steering wheel), heated and ventilated seats with lumbar support and seat back bolsters, a heated steering wheel, an auto-dimming power-folding driver-side exterior mirror, wireless smartphone charging, a universal home remote, and two cargo nets.

The 3LZ gets the Custom Leather Wrapped Interior Package (has leather-wrapped upper instrument panel, door trim panels, and console cover), the Sueded Microfiber-Wrapped Upper Interior Trim Package (suede headliner, visors, A-pillar trim, and front and rear windshield trim), Nappa leather-upholstered GT2 bucket seats, and a carbon-fiber steering wheel with leather wrapping.

The 2LZ and 3LZ have a standard performance data and video recorder (available on the 1LZ), which tracks speed, rpm, g-force, track maps, lap times, start/finish lines, 0 to 60 mph times, 1/4-mile speed, elapsed time, and 0-to-100-to-0 runs. The system has Track, Sport, Touring, and Performance modes, and provides real-time data on the E-Ray’s multimedia touchscreen, which can be downloaded to an SD card to be analyzed further.

Safety and Driver Assistance

Every 2025 E-Ray comes with rear park assist, forward collision alert, lane keep assist with lane departure warning, following distance indicator, automatic emergency braking, and front pedestrian and bicyclist braking. The 1LZ gets an HD rear-vision camera, while the higher trims upgrade to front and rear cameras, side blind-zone alert, and rear cross-traffic alert. All trims come with GM’s OnStar Basics safety package with automatic crash response and have access to the full subscription-based OnStar Safety Services suite.

Infotainment and Connectivity

The Google built-in infotainment system is housed within an 8-inch touchscreen on all three trims. Its main components are wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth, and SiriusXM satellite radio. The 1LZ gets a Bose Premium audio system with ten speakers, while the 2LZ and 3LZ get an enhanced Bose Performance Series sound system with fourteen speakers. GM’s OnStar Basics remote commands, built-in voice assistance, and real-time traffic and navigation are included, and the full subscription-based OnStar Connected Services suite is available on every E-Ray.
