2025 GMC
Acadia
The GMC Acadia was the recipient of a comprehensive redesign last year, where it was blessed with
expanded dimensions and streamlined powertrain options. For 2025, the third-generation Acadia continues
to offer a smart combination of space, comfort, and performance that pleases a wide array of drivers.
That’s especially true since it can accommodate up to eight passengers, making it attractive for
extended families who take road trips, or anyone else needing a spacious vehicle.
Despite the
very recent redesign, GMC has nevertheless made some updates to the Acadia lineup. The entry-level
Elevation trim now comes standard with eight-passenger seating, thanks to a second-row bench seat. That
said, buyers can opt for the new Elevation Premium Package, which replaces the bench with a pair of
captain’s chairs and changes the seating capacity to seven. Plus, every Acadia now comes with the
Trailering Package as a standard feature, equipping it with a Class III hitch and other towing
components.
Trims and Powertrains
The trim trio for the 2025 GMC Acadia consists of the Elevation, AT4, and Denali. Their power source is a
328-horsepower turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine. The Elevation and Denali come standard with
front-wheel drive (FWD), while all-wheel drive (AWD) is an option. As the AT4 is designed for
off-pavement adventures, it’s made exclusively with AWD. Regardless of their drivetrain, all Acadias get
an eight-speed automatic transmission.
The FWD Acadia achieves an EPA-estimated 20 mpg in the
city and 27 mpg on the highway. AWD slightly changes those figures to 19 mpg in urban driving and 24 mpg
on the open road. As far as cargo space, the Acadia offers 23.0 cubic feet behind the third row, which
expands to 57.3 cubic feet when the third row is folded down. With the second and third rows folded, the
Acadia provides 97.5 cubic feet of cargo room. For those who intend to utilize that now-standard towing
package (a Class III hitch, seven-pin wiring harness, 220-amp alternator, and a heavy-duty cooling
system), the Acadia can tow up to 5,000 pounds.
Standard Features
GMC has equipped the 2025 Acadia with a good number of comfort and convenience amenities. The
eight-passenger Elevation has an excellent mix for a base trim, getting CoreTec leatherette upholstery,
heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, wireless device charging, a hands-free power liftgate,
tri-zone automatic climate control, an eight-way power driver’s seat (with power lumbar controls), a
six-way power front passenger seat, remote start, and proximity keyless entry. It also has an 11-inch
driver information display, rear privacy glass, heated power side mirrors with integrated turn
indicators, rear climate control, push-button ignition, USB ports for all three rows, and 18-inch
aluminum wheels. The optional Elevation Premium Package will add second-row captain’s chairs (limiting
total occupancy to seven), front passenger-seat power lumbar controls, an auto-dimming rearview mirror,
and 20-inch aluminum wheels.
In the seven-passenger AT4, buyers will find the most rugged and
capable Acadia. This trim is differentiated by a lifted chassis, an advanced AWD system with active
torque control, and a performance suspension. In addition, the AT4 also has a high-approach front-end
design, multi-terrain drive modes, skid plates, hill descent control, hill start assist, recovery hooks,
and 18-inch wheels with all-terrain tires. The AT4’s standard equipment list also includes cloth and
CoreTec upholstery, a six-way power front passenger seat (with power lumbar controls), exclusive
exterior accents, roof-mounted side rails, sound-reducing windshield and front-side window glass, and an
auto-dimming rearview mirror.
The plush Denali trim steers the Acadia in a truly upscale
direction with perforated leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, heated power-folding
and sliding second-row captain’s chairs, a power-folding third row, a power tilt-and-telescopic steering
column, genuine wood interior accents, ambient cabin lighting, animated exterior lighting, and 20-inch
wheels. On the practical side, the Denali presents a driver’s memory system, a head-up display,
sound-reducing glass, rain-sensing windshield wipers, and a heated wiper park.
Advanced Driver Aids and Safety Technology
All 2025 GMC Acadia trims receive a comprehensive suite of advanced driver-assistance systems, including forward collision alert, enhanced automatic emergency braking, front pedestrian and bicycle braking, blind-zone steering assist, rear cross-traffic braking, intersection automatic emergency braking, enhanced lane keep assist, rear pedestrian detection, reverse automatic braking, side bicyclist alert, and adaptive cruise control. A surround-view monitor, GM’s Safety Alert Seat (the driver’s seat vibrates during certain safety notifications), rear parking sensors, automatic high beams, a following distance indicator, traffic sign recognition, and rear seat reminder are also standard. For added convenience, the Acadia offers options such as semi-autonomous parking support and Super Cruise hands-free highway driving. The vehicle also comes equipped with a range of supplemental safety equipment, including a rearview monitor, anti-lock brakes, an array of airbags, stability control, and traction control.
Infotainment and Connectivity
All 2025 GMC Acadia trims boast a 15-inch portrait-style infotainment touchscreen. This advanced system features high-resolution graphics, customizable panels, and Google built-in for seamless access to Google Maps, Google Assistant, and other in-demand apps. The Acadia also has wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, SiriusXM satellite radio, Wi-Fi hotspot capability, and access to OnStar services. All trims are graced with a 12-speaker Bose sound system, which can be upgraded to a 16-speaker Bose arrangement in the Denali.
