2025 GMC
Hummer EV Pickup
The 2025 GMC Hummer EV Pickup is an innovative reimagining of the iconic Hummer nameplate, blending the
rugged, go-anywhere capability of its predecessor with pioneering electric vehicle (EV) technology.
Originally launched in the early 1990s as a civilian adaptation of the military Humvee, the Hummer
became a symbol of unrelenting strength and overlanding prowess. But while the original models were
beloved for their robust performance, they were also infamous for their oversized dimensions and poor
fuel efficiency – a reflection of their era. This led to the Hummer’s discontinuation in 2010, as the
market began to favor more practical forms of transportation.
Fast forward to today, and the
Hummer has been reborn as an EV with the same audacious spirit along with a much more welcome platform
of sustainability and zero-emissions driving. The 2025 GMC Hummer EV Pickup boasts exceptional power,
courtesy of an all-electric powertrain that generates up to 1,000 horsepower as well as a 0-to-60 mph
time of just three seconds with the available Watts to Freedom mode.
With the 2025 GMC Hummer EV
Pickup, GMC has successfully bridged the gap between the Hummer’s storied past and an electrified
future. This is a vehicle that redefines what it means to be a powerhouse in the modern automotive
landscape.
Trims, Powertrains, and Performance
The 2025 GMC Hummer EV Pickup is made in two trim levels: 2X and 3X. The 2X is equipped with a dual-motor
version of the Ultium Drive System, producing a hearty 570 horsepower and 7,400 lb.-ft. of torque. The
3X is upgraded with the tri-motor Ultium Drive System, which supplies a class-leading 1,000 horsepower
and an astonishing 11,500 lb.-ft. of torque.
For the most exhilarating experience, GMC offers the
Watts to Freedom drive mode for the Hummer EV Pickup. When it’s activated, the vehicle prepares for
launch by lowering the adaptive air suspension by two inches and turning on haptic feedback in the
driver’s seat, while also displaying dynamic visuals on the 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster. With this
mode engaged, the Hummer EV Pickup rockets from 0 to 60 mph in just three seconds – a remarkable feat
for any vehicle, never mind one of these dimensions.
Charging and Range
Powered by GM’s advanced 20-module Ultium battery, the 2025 Hummer EV Pickup offers state-of-the-art
charging capabilities, including 240V Level 2 charging up to 19.2 kW and 800V DC fast charging up to 300
kW. Range estimates reach 318 miles with the 2X (59 MPGe city/47 MPGe highway) and 312 miles with the 3X
(58 MPGe city/46 MPGe highway).
Energy-saving features like One-Pedal Driving and Regen on Demand
optimize this electric pickup’s efficiency. One-Pedal Driving allows the driver to accelerate and
decelerate using only the accelerator pedal while also regenerating the kinetic energy that forms during
braking. With Regen on Demand, the operator has even more control with the ability to adjust the degree
of regen using steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters.
Standard Equipment
The 2X boasts a wealth of premium features, staring on the interior with leatherette upholstery, heated
and ventilated power-adjustable front seats with driver’s position memory, heated rear outboard seats
with a 60/40 split, wireless phone charging, a heated power tilt-and-telescopic steering column, and
tri-zone automatic climate control. Additional conveniences include push-button start, a universal home
remote, a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, a 120V power outlet, and multiple USB ports for charging and
data.
The exterior flaunts GM’s Infinity Roof with removable opaque Sky Panels, rain-sensing
windshield wipers, heated power-folding side mirrors (with built-in turn indicators, puddle lights, and
driver’s-side auto-dimming), the six-function MultiPro tailgate with EZ Lift assist, a 5-foot
high-strength steel cargo bed with a spray-on liner and 120V power outlet, power rear-window drop glass,
accessory mounting points on the roof, and full LED lighting (including headlights, daytime running
lights, taillights, amber roof marker lights, and a front light bar). The eTrunk located beneath the
power-operated hood provides 11.3 cubic feet of cargo space with four tie-down hooks (rated for 110
pounds), a 12V power outlet, and storage for the modular Sky Panels.
As expected, the 2X has
plenty of off-road attributes, such as an adaptive air ride suspension with Extract Mode (which raises
the truck by 6 inches), a real-time damping suspension, selectable drive modes (Off-Road, Terrain,
Tow/Haul, Normal, and customizable My Mode), and electronic four-wheel steering with diagonal CrabWalk.
To top it off, it comes from the factory with Goodyear Wrangler Territory all-terrain tires on 22-inch
wheels, plus frame-mounted front recovery hooks (rear recovery hooks are optional). The 3X builds on
these features by adding the tri-motor Ultium Drive System and the Watts to Freedom drive mode.
Active Safety Technology
GMC equips the ‘25 Hummer EV Pickup with a good number of advanced safety features, including forward
collision alert with automatic emergency braking, reverse automatic braking, front pedestrian braking,
rear pedestrian alert, an HD surround-view camera, rear seat reminder, lane keep assist with lane
departure warning, lane change alert with side blind-zone alert, rear cross-traffic alert, automatic
parking assistance, and a following distance indicator. The available 18-view UltraVision system boasts
class-exclusive underbody cameras for enhanced visibility.
For towing, the Hummer EV Pickup is
nicely set up with trailer side blind-zone alert, Hitch Guidance, and Hitch View. Both trims also get a
three-year subscription to GM’s Super Cruise, enabling hands-free driving on over 400,000 miles of
compatible roadways in the U.S. and Canada.
Infotainment and Connectivity
The ‘25 Hummer EV Pickup features a cutting-edge 13.4-inch infotainment touchscreen with Google built-in, providing simplified access to Google Assistant, Google Maps, and Google Play Store. The system also has wireless Android Auto, wireless Apple CarPlay, SiriusXM satellite radio, voice recognition, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and Bluetooth hands-free connectivity. What’s more, the standard 14-speaker Bose audio system with CenterPoint surround sound produces an exceptional listening experience that audiophiles will relish.
