Silverado EV

Purists may roll their eyes at the thought of an electric pickup. After all, you can’t slap “EV” onto a legendary nameplate and expect truck enthusiasts to jump right on board. The benefits of going electric are numerous, but the performance and capability need to be there. That’s not an issue with the 2026 Silverado EV, which lives up to Chevy’s sterling performance reputation with up to 625 hp and 775 lb.-ft. of torque, a maximum towing capacity of 12,500 pounds, a 0-to-60-mph time of under 4.5 seconds, and an estimated driving range as high as 478 miles.

For 2026, Chevy’s rugged, ready-for-anything Trail Boss trim makes its debut, complete with a lifted chassis, higher suspension, active rear steering, red front tow hooks, an exclusive interior design, all-terrain tires, and a glowing front fascia courtesy of its illuminated bowtie emblem and front grille. The ’26 Silverado EV has also welcomed three new paint colors: Magnus Gray Matte Metallic, Polar White Tricoat, and White Sands.

Trims, Powertrains, and Performance

The ‘26 Silverado EV lineup consists of the Work Truck, LT, and Trail Boss. Each trim is standard equipped with dual electric motors, four-wheel drive, and a high-voltage battery. The Work Truck only has one battery option, the Standard Range pack, which produces up to 510 horsepower and 490 lb.-ft. of torque. Its estimated range is 286 miles. The Standard Range battery onboard the LT makes 510 horsepower and 580 lb.-ft. of torque and supplies an estimated range of 283 miles.

The Extended Range battery is available for the LT or Trail Boss to enable an estimated 410-mile range, while the Max Range battery achieves an estimated 478 miles for those trims. Those two trims also get Chevy’s Virtualized Ride Mode Interface, a feature that generates up to 645 horsepower and 765 lb.-ft. of torque for the LT and 625 horsepower and 775 lb.-ft. of torque for the Trail Boss via Wide Open Watts in Sports Mode. This high-performance setting also allows for a 12,500-pound towing capacity and gets the Silverado EV from 0 to 60 mph in under 4.5 seconds.

Charging

Every 2026 Silverado EV comes with a dual-level charge cord, and it can be powered up at home or on the road at more than 250,000 public charging stations across the United States. Level 2 AC charging is supported up to 240 volts, while DC Fast Charging rates are as follows: 475V to 220 kW for Standard Range, 670V, to 300 kW for Extended Range, and 800V to 350 kW for Max Range. Although the exact charging times are not available yet, GM estimates that the ’26 Silverado EV can regain about 120 miles of range in just 10 minutes when it’s connected to a 350-kW power source. It’s also worth mentioning that all ‘26 Silverado EVs are equipped with Electronic Precision Shift and One Pedal Driving, an advanced regenerative braking system that optimizes range.
