2026 Chevrolet Trax

2026 Chevrolet
Trax

The second-generation Trax is a bona fide hit, with the model becoming Chevrolet’s second-most popular crossover (behind the Equinox). This success comes from a combination of meaningful value, tasteful styling, and efficient turbocharged power. Despite the Trax being the automaker’s entry-level vehicle, it looks and drives like much more. For 2026, the Chevrolet Trax keeps this appealing formula with a broad trim range. There are also quite a few sought-after standard features, including automatic emergency braking and touchscreen infotainment. Meanwhile, the contemporarily appointed interior provides welcoming room for five and flexible cargo space in the back.

Trims and Powertrain

Chevrolet offers the 2026 Trax in five front-wheel-drive trims: LS, 1RS, LT, 2RS, and ACTIV. They all employ a turbocharged 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine that makes 137 horsepower. It’s paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. The Trax is an efficient model, with the EPA-estimated fuel economy checking in at 28 mpg in city driving and 32 mpg on the highway. Behind the second row, you’ll find 25.6 cubic feet of cargo capacity, which can be expanded to 54.1 cubic feet with the seats folded down.

Standard Features

Chevrolet equips the LS with automatic LED headlights, fabric upholstery, manual single-zone climate control, remote keyless entry, rear privacy glass, a tilt-and-telescopic steering column, a 3.5-inch driver information display, cruise control, four USB ports (two per row), power-adjustable side mirrors, and 17-inch steel wheels. The 1RS builds on that foundation by adding heated front seats, a heated and wrapped flat-bottomed steering wheel, heated power side mirrors, black exterior accents, remote start, and 17-inch aluminum wheels.

The LT adds comfort and style upgrades with upholstery in a mix of Evotex leatherette and cloth, automatic climate control, premium LED daytime running lamps, an 8-inch driver information display, a cargo cover, and unique exterior detailing. The available LT Convenience Package adds heated front seats, a heated and wrapped steering wheel, proximity keyless entry, and heated side mirrors.

For drivers wanting extra features and a more athletic look, the 2RS combines the sporty accents of the 1RS with premium touches such as Evotex upholstery, automatic climate control, proximity keyless entry, premium LED daytime running lights, an 8-inch driver information display, roof-mounted side rails, a cargo cover, and 19-inch wheels. Topping the lineup, the ACTIV expands on the LT by adding Evotex upholstery, heated front seats, a heated and wrapped steering wheel, an eight-way power driver’s seat, proximity keyless entry, heated side mirrors, trim-specific exterior styling, and 18-inch black-finished wheels. Wireless device charging is optional on the LT, 2RS, and ACTIV.

Advanced Driver Aids

Every Trax includes Chevy Safety Assist as standard. This suite brings forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, front pedestrian braking, lane keep assist with lane departure warning, a following distance indicator, and automatic high beams. Buyers can opt for the Driver Confidence Package, which adds lane change alert with blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and rear parking sensors. This grouping includes adaptive cruise control on the LT, 2RS, and ACTIV. All five trims receive airbags, stability control, traction control, anti-lock brakes, and a backup camera.

Infotainment and Connectivity

The LS and 1RS feature an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, while the LT, 2RS, and ACTIV upgrade to an 11-inch touchscreen. Both systems have wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, SiriusXM satellite radio, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi hotspot capability, and access to OnStar services. The LS and 1RS have a four-speaker sound system, while the LT and above get six speakers.
