2026 GMC Acadia

The GMC Acadia has returned for the 2026 model year with a blend of familiar strengths and new refinements that allow it to build on its role as the brand’s midsized crossover. A digital rearview mirror is now standard on every trim, giving drivers a clearer view when cargo or passengers block visibility. More significantly, the lineup grows with the addition of the Denali Ultimate trim. This new flagship grade elevates the Acadia’s already premium standing with upgraded materials, advanced technology, and Denali Ultimate-specific design elements. Its cabin introduces upscale materials and comfort features that set it apart from the already well-equipped Denali. On the exterior, a combination of trim-specific accents and larger wheels reinforces its position at the top of the range. Above all, the Acadia continues to provide three-row spaciousness and versatility in a head-turning package.

Trims and Powertrains

For 2026, the Acadia is offered in Elevation, AT4, and Denali trims, now joined by the new Denali Ultimate. Their power source is a 328-horsepower turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, which GMC pairs with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Only the AT4 gets standard all-wheel drive (AWD); the other trims get front-wheel drive (FWD) by default but are eligible for AWD as an option.

The dedicated cargo area behind the third row measures 23.0 cubic feet, but when that back row is folded flat, the space opens to 57.3 cu. ft. Folding both the second and third rows opens up 97.5 cubic feet of total space. Those who need e Acadia can tow up to 5,000 pounds with the standard Trailering Package. Front-wheel-drive versions of the Acadia return EPA-estimated fuel economy of 20 mpg around town and 27 mpg on the highway. With AWD, those numbers change to 19 city/24 mpg highway.

Standard Equipment

The Elevation trim has remote start, CoreTec leatherette upholstery, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, tri-zone automatic climate control, proximity keyless entry, push-button start, and a hands-free power liftgate. An 11-inch driver information display, wireless device charging, rear climate controls, rear privacy glass, a digital rearview mirror, and heated power side mirrors with integrated turn signals are also part of this trim, along with USB ports for all three rows. The standard Trailer Package contains a Class III hitch, a seven-pin wiring harness, a 220-amp alternator, and a heavy-duty cooling system. For seating, there’s an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat with power lumbar controls plus a six-way power front passenger seat. The Elevation comes standard with eight-passenger seating that can be upgraded to a seven-passenger configuration with a pair of second-row captain’s chairs. The Elevation rides on 18-inch aluminum wheels.

The seven-seat AT4 focuses on traction and durability with an advanced AWD system featuring active torque control, a lifted chassis, and a performance suspension. A high-approach front fascia, multi-terrain drive modes, skid plates, hill descent control, hill start assist, and recovery hooks are included, as are roof-mounted side rails. The upholstery is done in a blend of cloth and CoreTec, with a six-way power front passenger seat with power lumbar; an auto-dimming rearview mirror and sound-reducing windshield and front-side window glass round out the equipment. The AT4 rolls all-terrain tires mounted on 18-inch wheels.

The Acadia takes a more upscale presence with the Denali, which adds perforated leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, heated power-folding and sliding second-row captain’s chairs, and a power-folding third row. A power tilt-and-telescopic steering column, genuine wood accents, ambient cabin lighting, and animated exterior lighting are also included, along with convenience features like a driver’s memory system, a head-up display, sound-reducing glass, a heated wiper park, rain-sensing windshield wipers, and 20-inch wheels.

For those looking for something even more upscale, the Denali Ultimate hits the target with Woodland Mahogany full leather upholstery, heated and ventilated massaging front seats, a panoramic sunroof, an off-road-tuned performance suspension, and a suede-like headliner. The cabin also has Paldao wood accents with laser-etched detailing and embossed topographical map patterns on the seat backs, door trim, and map pocket. The Denali Ultimate is completed with unique exterior treatments and 22-inch machined aluminum wheels.

Every 2026 Acadia is set up for added safety with advanced technologies such as forward collision alert, enhanced automatic emergency braking, front pedestrian and bicycle braking, blind-zone steering assist, rear cross-traffic braking, intersection automatic emergency braking, enhanced lane keep assist, reverse automatic braking, rear pedestrian detection, side bicyclist alert, and adaptive cruise control. A surround-view monitor, rear parking sensors, traffic sign recognition, automatic high beams, a following distance indicator, rear seat reminder, and GM’s Safety Alert Seat are also included. Super Cruise hands-free highway driving is standard with the Denali Ultimate and optional for the lower trims.

The system is based on Google built-in and has wireless smartphone connectivity (Android Auto and Apple CarPlay) as well as SiriusXM satellite radio. All trims are set up for Wi-Fi hotspot capability and access to OnStar services. All trims receive a premium Bose audio system, with 16 speakers in the Denali Ultimate and 12 speakers in the lower trims.
