2026 GMC Sierra EV

Model year 2026 means more trim choices for GMC’s electric pickup. The Elevation and AT4 have joined the Denali in the Sierra EV’s lineup to create a three-tier selection that mirrors GMC's conventional Sierra hierarchy. Each trim is available with multiple battery configurations, including a new Standard Range option that lowers the entry price while still providing competitive capability.

The range figures for the 2026 Sierra EV are excellent, with the top Max Range variants achieving a once-unthinkable 478 miles on a full charge (that’s an 18-mile improvement over the 2025 model). Some of this electric truck’s stand-out attributes are the available MultiPro Midgate, which allows the cargo bed to expand into the cabin for hauling items up to 11 feet long while still accommodating backseat passengers. The newly added AT4 brings dedicated off-road capability with a lifted suspension, all-terrain tires, and terrain-specific drive modes, while the Elevation brings with it substantial standard equipment. Every trim maintains the truck's undeniable street presence and comes with useful features such as the front eTrunk storage compartment and vehicle-to-home power capability.

Trim and Powertrain

There are three core trims for the 2026 Sierra EV: Elevation, Denali, and AT4. The Elevation is available in the Standard Range and Extended Range versions; those two are also offered for the Denali, along with Max Range. The AT4 comes in the Extended and Max Ranges. All Sierra EVs are all-wheel drive and have a five-passenger crew cab configuration with a 70.59-inch cargo bed. The cargo capacity for most trims is 2,250 pounds (1,950 pounds for the AT4). The Elevation and Denali can tow up to 12,500 pounds, while the AT4 can take on an iota less (12,300 lb.).

The Standard Range editions have dual electric motors producing 605 horsepower and 605 lb.-ft. of torque. The GM-estimated range is 283 miles, and Level 3/DC fast charging for these versions is at 475 volts at up to 220 kW. The Extended Range Sierra EV offers 390 to 410 miles of range and make between 625 and 645 horsepower and 765 to 785 lb.-ft. of torque (depending on the core trim). Fast charging increases to 670 volts at up to 300 kW. The Max Range editions produce 725 horsepower and 775 lb.-ft. of torque (AT4) or 760 horsepower and 785 lb.-ft. of torque (Denali). Higher capacity fast charging is at 800 volts at up to 300 kW. The GM-estimated maximum range for these configurations is 478 miles. At peak charging capacity, the Max Range editions can add 100 miles of range in about 10 minutes. An optional North American Charging Standard (NACS) adapter provides access to Tesla’s charging network.

Advanced Driver Aids and Safety Technology

All Sierra EV trims have an extensive suite of safety technologies, including forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking (with intersection support), blind-zone steering assist, rear cross-traffic braking, lane keep assist, rear pedestrian alert, and side bicycle alert. GMC also includes adaptive cruise control, a surround-view monitor, the Safety Alert Seat (the driver’s seat vibrates to emphasize specific safety notifications), a following distance indicator, and front and rear parking sensors. Super Cruise hands-free highway driving, semi-autonomous parking support, and driver attention monitoring are standard on all Denali and AT4 trims and are optional on the Elevation Extended Range.

Infotainment and Connectivity

The Sierra EV’s infotainment is managed through a 16.8-inch portrait-style touchscreen in all trims. The system is based on Google built-in features for access to Google Maps, Google Assistant, and other commonly used apps. SiriusXM satellite radio and Bluetooth connectivity are standard. Both Elevation variants have a six-speaker audio system upgraded to a seven-speaker Bose arrangement in the higher trims. The Bose system is an option for the Elevation Extended Range. All trims have 5G Wi-Fi hotspot capability and access to OnStar services for emergency support and remote functions.
